Freya and Chloe’s wedding at Harvest Moon Weddings in Dunbar was one of my favourite weddings of the year. Two lovely people, a brilliant bunch of family and friends, and a setting that felt so well suited to them. It was exactly the kind of wedding I love to photograph.
With a ceremony in the woodland and a trip to the beach for portraits, there was so much to love about this day. It brought together everything that draws me to rustic, natural wedding photography: beautiful surroundings, people enjoying being together, and a celebration full of personality.
A magical woodland ceremony
There’s something special about getting married among the trees, and the woodland at Harvest Moon Weddings made a magical setting for Freya and Chloe’s ceremony.
Being surrounded by nature gives a ceremony such a lovely feel. For me, it also creates a beautiful backdrop for photographs while keeping the attention exactly where it belongs: on the couple and the people sharing that moment with them.
Freya and Chloe had such a great group of family and friends around them. As much as I loved the setting, it was the people who made this wedding such a pleasure to photograph. That’s always what stays with me after a wedding, and this one was no exception.
Beach portraits in Dunbar
After the woodland ceremony, we headed to the beach for portraits. Having those two settings as part of the same wedding was a real treat to photograph: the trees around the ceremony, followed by the open space of the coast.
I love taking portraits outdoors, where the surroundings become part of the photographs and there’s room for a couple to enjoy a little time together. The beach was a lovely part of Freya and Chloe’s day and a beautiful setting for photographs of the two of them.
A perfect fit for my natural photography style
Harvest Moon Weddings is such a good match for the rustic, natural style I love to shoot. The woodland and beach give you so much to work with, and both felt right at home in the story of this wedding.
But the reason this day became a favourite was Freya and Chloe themselves, and the people they chose to share it with. It was a joy to photograph their wedding, and I’m so pleased I got to be part of it.
Freya and Chloe, thank you for having me along.
