Hopetoun House is such a beautifully iconic place. If you want to get married at an outrageously epic location in Scotland, then this is a must-see. Not only is the building steeped in history, it’s close to the Forth bridges and a short distance from Edinburgh. As soon as you start making your way down its long driveway, you feel like you’ve been transported to a period drama. It certainly makes for a luxury wedding experience, and it was a great pleasure to photograph Bryony and Adam’s amazing day.

Morning preparations at the Kimpton Hotel

The day started at the Kimpton Hotel, Charlotte Square, Edinburgh, where all of the morning preparations took place. It’s always such a great feeling when there is so much fun and energy on the morning of a wedding. It really makes me excited for the rest of the day. I knew immediately that this was going to be an awesome day… and I certainly wasn’t disappointed.

The whole day was filled with love and laughter. The guests were all on top form, which gave me the freedom to capture loads of amazingly candid moments. Bryony and Adam were so much fun to work with. We explored the grounds and had a great laugh doing so.

I always like to keep things relaxed when photographing portraits. It was important for me to capture not only the beauty of the location, but also their personalities and the happiness they both exuded on the day. All in all, a pretty perfect wedding day.
