Kirsty and Struan’s wedding at Citation in the heart of Glasgow’s Merchant City was everything I love about winter and twilight weddings — atmospheric light, incredible energy, and a couple who were completely up for making the most of every moment.
Photographed between Christmas and New Year, their day had that special festive buzz in the air. The city felt alive, the lights were glowing, and Citation provided the perfect warm, stylish backdrop for an unforgettable celebration.
A Perfect Twilight Ceremony
Twilight weddings always bring something a little bit magical, and Kirsty and Struan’s ceremony was no exception. As their ceremony came to an end, the sun was already dropping behind the buildings, creating that beautiful soft winter glow that photographers absolutely love.
The timing couldn’t have been better — stepping outside just as daylight faded gave us the perfect mix of natural light and city ambience, setting the scene for some truly iconic Glasgow wedding portraits.

One of the highlights of the day was heading out onto the streets of the Merchant City, Glasgow, for portraits. The combination of historic architecture, festive lights and moody winter skies created a cinematic feel that suited Kirsty and Struan perfectly.
These two were an absolute dream to photograph — relaxed, full of laughter and totally in the moment. We made the most of the surrounding streets, capturing a mix of romantic and fun images that really reflected their personalities and the energy of the city around them.

As the evening kicked off, the atmosphere inside Citation just kept building. One of the standout moments was their sparkler exit, which brought everyone together for a brilliant, high-energy moment and some seriously fun photographs.
From there, it was straight into party mode — and what a party it was.

The dance floor was absolutely electric. This is where I really come into my own — I love nothing more than getting right in amongst the action, capturing people at their most outrageous, carefree and joyful.
