Every now and then, a wedding comes along that reminds you exactly why you love this job. Megan and Matty’s big day at Rufflets, St Andrews wasn’t just a wedding—it was a full-blown celebration of life, love, and all things wonderfully chaotic. From the moment I arrived, I could tell this was going to be something special. What I didn’t know was that by the end of the night, I’d feel like I’d run a marathon (a very fun, glitter-filled marathon).
The setting? Picture-perfect. Rufflets never disappoints with its manicured gardens, timeless charm, and those golden rays of Scottish sunshine that graced us all day. But what made this wedding unforgettable wasn’t the venue or the weather—it was the people. Megan and Matty brought an electric energy that lit up every corner of the celebration.
Megan, with her unstoppable enthusiasm and radiant spirit, had everyone in stitches, tears, or both—often within the same five minutes. Her energy was completely infectious. I found myself not just photographing the action, but laughing along, dodging flying confetti, and even having a boogie or two (purely in the line of duty, of course...).
From the wild confetti explosion after the “I dos” to the spontaneous dance-offs erupting throughout the day, the entire wedding felt like one big, vibrant party. The colours were bold, the outfits on point, and the crowd? Absolutely up for it. There was a real sense that everyone there wanted to celebrate this love story—and they did so with everything they had.
By the time the sun dipped below the St Andrews skyline, the dance floor had transformed into something out of a festival. There was spinning, shouting, jumping, and some questionable (but highly committed) moves on display. I left the wedding sweaty, smiling, and slightly dazed—in the best way possible.
Megan and Matty, thank you for letting me be part of your whirlwind of a day. Your love is loud, joyful, and a total riot—and I loved every second of capturing it. Definitely one for the books. Or at the very least, one that deserves a lie-down and a strong coffee the next morning!
