Tess & Luca’s Wedding at Rosebery Steading, Midlothian
As a wedding photographer in Scotland, I always get excited when I’m booked to shoot at Rosebery Steading in Midlothian. It’s one of my favourite Scottish wedding venues because it has the perfect mix of rustic charm and wholesome elegance. If you’re adventurous (but maybe not too adventurous — you’d still like to keep your dress clean!), this countryside venue is an absolute dream.
A Scottish-Brazilian Love Story
Tess, from Scotland, and Luca, from Brazil, brought together two families and cultures for a truly unforgettable wedding. Many of Luca’s family and friends travelled to Scotland for the very first time to join the celebration, which added a wonderful energy to the day.
The atmosphere was amazing from start to finish — full of laughter, happy tears, and plenty of dancing late into the night. You could really feel the love between these two families, which made it such a joy to photograph.
Why Rosebery Steading is the Perfect Scottish Wedding Venue
One of the reasons I love photographing weddings at Rosebery Steading is the venue itself. It’s elegant without being overly formal, rustic without being too rough around the edges. The stone buildings, exposed beams, and countryside setting make it perfect for couples who want a relaxed but stylish Scottish wedding venue.
It’s also versatile, working beautifully for ceremonies, receptions, and evening parties. For Tess and Luca, the venue was the perfect backdrop to their heartfelt and joyful day.
Capturing Natural & Candid Wedding Photography
My approach is always documentary-style wedding photography — capturing genuine, unscripted moments rather than staging them. Tess and Luca’s wedding was a perfect example of why I love this style.
From the emotional moments during the ceremony to the big hugs, belly laughs, and crazy dance floor moves, every photo told a story. Being a “fly on the wall” at Rosebery Steading allowed me to capture candid memories that Tess and Luca can look back on for years to come.
A Day Full of Joy and Connection
Weddings like Tess and Luca’s are exactly why I love being a Scottish wedding photographer. Two families, two cultures, and one amazing celebration coming together in such a unique setting. Rosebery Steading provided the perfect stage for it all — rustic, elegant, and full of heart.
If you’re planning your wedding at Rosebery Steading in Midlothian and are looking for natural, candid wedding photography, I’d love to hear from you.
