Kat & Rob’s New Chapter: A Bookshop Wedding in Dunoon

A New Chapter for Kat & Rob

Some weddings feel like the beginning of a story. Others feel like the perfect opportunity to turn the page and start a completely new chapter.

For Kat and Rob, their celebration in the early summer was very much about the latter.

Having originally married years ago, they decided to celebrate their relationship again and renew their vows as they embarked on this next chapter together. Rather than having a traditional wedding, they wanted something that felt completely personal to them — relaxed, fun and a little bit different.

And what could be more fitting for two avid readers than getting married in a bookshop?

The First Wedding at Bookpoint, Dunoon

The ceremony took place at Bookpoint in Dunoon, a wonderful independent bookshop and a location that couldn't have been more appropriate for Kat and Rob.

It was also a little bit historic — this was the first wedding ever to take place at Bookpoint.

With shelves of books providing the backdrop, Kat and Rob exchanged their vows surrounded by their closest friends and family. It felt intimate and incredibly personal, without any of the formality that can sometimes take over a wedding day.

And because books are such an important part of their lives, they had the brilliant idea of giving everyone a book token to spend after the ceremony. Guests could browse the shelves, choose a book and then settle in with tea and cakes while everyone mingled.

It was relaxed, slightly quirky and completely them.

Dunoon Wedding Photography: Beach, Woodland & Toward Castle Ruins

After the ceremony and bookshop celebrations, we headed outside for some portraits around Dunoon.

Rather than spending hours taking formal photographs, we wandered between the beach, woodland and some nearby castle ruins, making the most of the surrounding landscape.

This was much more about spending time together and exploring than standing around posing for photographs — which suited Kat and Rob perfectly.

There were plenty of laughs along the way, and the portraits captured the energy and personality that make these two such an awesome couple.

The Party at Innellan Village Hall

The celebrations continued at Innellan Village Hall, where things moved up a gear.

There were speeches, plenty of food, lots of laughter and, eventually, a dance floor that was definitely getting its money's worth.

Kat and Rob brought an incredible amount of energy to the day, and their friends and family weren't far behind. It was one of those celebrations where everyone seemed completely invested in having a brilliant time together.

No unnecessary fuss. No trying to make the day fit a traditional wedding template.

Just two people celebrating their relationship, surrounded by the people they love.

Ready to Start Their Next Chapter

What I loved most about Kat and Rob's celebration was how completely personal it felt.

From choosing a bookshop for their ceremony to giving their guests book tokens, exploring the Dunoon coastline and woodland for portraits, and finishing the day with a proper party at Innellan Village Hall, every part of it reflected who they are.

Their story has already had a few chapters, but this felt like the beginning of something new.

And if the energy, laughter and dancing from this day are anything to go by, I reckon the next chapter is going to be a bloody good one.

Congratulations, Kat and Rob. Here's to the next chapter.
