Carlowrie Castle Wedding
When two worlds collide in the most enchanting way, magic happens. Recently, I had the incredible honour of photographing a wedding that beautifully fused the rich traditions of Scotland with the vibrant energy of Brazil. The setting for this cultural amalgamation? The stunning Carlowrie Castle in Scotland. Join me on a visual journey as we explore the captivating moments that unfolded during this Scottish and Brazilian celebration of love.
Dovecot Studios Wedding
Dovecot Studios is one of Edinburgh’s many hidden gems. What an incredible place to get married. The building was initially built to house The Infirmary Street Baths, which were the first public baths in Edinburgh, built in 1885 by Robert Morham.
Nestled in the heart of Edinburgh, Dovecot Studios provided an enchanting canvas for the couple's love story. The historic venue, with its exposed brick walls and high ceilings adorned with contemporary art, set the perfect stage for a wedding that seamlessly blended tradition with modernity.
Fingal Ship Wedding
I had such an amazing experience photographing Katie & Blair’s incredible wedding on Fingal. I mean, how many people can say that they got married on an actual shipt!? Not many! Well, Katie and Blair are now those people. They did it!
I was really excited for this wedding for a while as it’s always fun to shoot a venue that I’ve never photographed before, but when that venue is a real boat in Edinburgh, I was a little extra excited.
Having said that, the venue is only a small part of any venue. It’s all about the shipmates, and this vessel had a fine bunch of sailors aboard… I’ll stop with the nautical chat now, I promise!
Katie and Blair are such an awesome couple and it was a total privilege to be part of their amazing wedding day. Everything about their wedding was so good. The laughs, the emotional ceremony, the brilliant speeches and the exceptional dancing. What a day!
Dundas Castle Wedding
A beautiful wedding and the majestic Dundas Castle, Edinburgh. Who wouldn't want to get married at a 15th century Scottish Castle. It's like something out of a fairytale and I was fortunate enough to naturally and candidly photography such a special wedding. Beautiful portraits and documentary style photography was captured throughout this joyful occasion.
Scottish Wedding Photographer
What an incredible year to be a Scottish wedding photographer. This blog features my best and favourite images from 2023 and what an amazing year it has been. I’ve photographed dozens of very memorable elopements and weddings throughout Scotland. From wild elopements in the Highlands and Islands to be big barn stomping rustic parties, lavish hotel celebrations and historic Scottish castle weddings… this year has had it all.
The Caves, Edinburgh Wedding
An awesome winter wedding at one of Edinburgh’s most unusual wedding venues… The Caves. This location is truly unique and one of Scotland’s hidden gems. Nestled away down an alley in the Cowgate area of the city, it’s tough to find, but once you walk through the doors you are transported to a dark and gothic little cathedral of happiness. It’s surrounded by so many historic and beautiful locations, so it’s absolutely perfect for a wedding at any time of the year. This venue is well suited to couples that are maybe a little alternative and want to escape tradition. That’s exactly what Rebekah and Alasdair did… and it worked perfectly for this amazing bride and groom.
The Glasshouse Edinburgh Wedding
Edinburgh city centre wedding photography at one of the city’s hidden gems. The Glasshouse has a hidden rooftop that can host wedding ceremonies and sunset dancing. Check this place out if you’re looking for urban wedding planning inspiration.
Edinburgh Winter Wedding
A snowy winter wedding in Edinburgh city centre. The day started at Le Monde, went on to Edinburgh City Chambers and finished at The Dome. This wedding took place just before Christmas, so the whole city was twinkling and the snow was just a perfect addition to the urban winter wonderland.
Best Wedding Photographer Scotland
2021 was the busiest, craziest and most creatively rewarding year I’ve had since starting my journey as a wedding photographer almost 10 years ago. Check out this blog to take a look at the story of my year in wedding photography in Scotland. If you’re looking to get married in Scotland or elope to the highlands, this might provide you with a little inspiration.
